Dice Frenzy! Alpha
It's here to stay! Dice Frenzy is a five-dice combination game. Choose the type of game you would like to play:
Ooops!
We broke it again. We're implementing the correct scoring rules. So the links are down for now. We'll be back in a day or two.
Classic
Six sided die, just like Dad used to play.
Variations
Four sided die, just like Imhotep used to play.
Pyramids: Small Pyramid is 1 2 3 2 1 and Large Pyramid is 2 3 4 3 2. The dice do not have to appear in that order, just like with a Straight.

Small Pyramid

Large Pyramid
Eight sided die, just like Heraclitus used to play.
Odds is 1 3 5 7. Evens is 2 4 6 8. Again, the dice do not have to appear in that order.

Experimental
Forget dice! This is 2 sides of a bottle cap!
This variation breaks the "Rolling The Dice" metaphor; but that's why it's an experiment. It might help to think of it as heads or tails on a coin.
The scores for Frosty!, Vernon!, Bookends and Propellers are all patterns based on the order of the caps. The order matters, unlike in a Straight; or above with Pyramids, Odds and Evens.
Frosty! and Vernon! are odd/even paterns, starting at 1 and 2 respectively: 1 2 1 2 1 and 2 1 2 1 2.

"Frosty!"

"Vernon!"
Bookends is the two on the ends matching and the three in the middle matching.

"Bookends"
Frosty!, Vernon! and Bookends are all technically a Full House, but again, the position of the caps is important. That is: a Bookend can score a Full House, but a Full House won't necessarily score a Bookend.
Propeller is the one in the middle being different than the other four (a variation on Four of a Kind, but positioning is again important).

"Propeller"

- D20 - Just like Kaluza might have played?
Crazy scoring options might be fibonacci numbers, primes, etc. We haven't settled on them just yet.
FAQ
- When does the Frenzy Bonus happen?
- The Frenzy Bonus happens for every Frenzy rolled after the first Frenzy, if you scored the first one in the "Frenzy" box. If you already scored a 0 in the Frenzy box, you do not get the bonus on subsequent Frenzys.
-
- How much is the Frenzy Bonus?
- The Frenzy Bonus is usually worth 100 points, but the amount differs on some versions. For example, in Bottle Caps, the bonus is 25 points.
- How is the roll scored?
- You must use the roll in the appropriate upper box first, if it is available. If you rolled your second Frenzy of 2's, and the 2's box is open, you must use it there.
- If you roll your third Frenzy and it's also 2's, then you would have to score it in a lower box.
- Scoring a Frenzy in an upper Box
- If the appropriate upper box is open, you score the dice regularly. A roll of 5 2's scores 10 points; 5 4's scores 20 points; and so on.
- Scoring a Frenzy in a lower box
- If the appropriate upper box is not open, you can score the dice regularly in any lower box, with the exception that a small straight gets 30 points and a large straight gets 40 points, even though 5 of a kind is not a straight.
- The same goes for the other variations. In Pyramid Frenzy a subsequent Frenzy can be used for a Small Pyramid for 30 points or a Large Pyramid for 40 points. In Diamond Frenzy it's 30 for Evens and 40 for Evens.
Confused? Don't worry. The game knows how to score it.
Highest Possible Scores
To score the maximum number of points possible in a game, you must roll Frenzy's every turn. You would score the Frenzy Bonus for each turn afterward, and be awarded the highest possible points for each box. In a game with 13 turns, 12 Frenzy Bonuses are possible.
