NotZee!
A Harrington Bros. Joint: It's Not Yahtzee. It's NotZee! Choose the type of game you would like to play:
- Classic
Classic six sided die.
- Pyramid
Four sided die.
Pyramids: small is 1 2 3 2 1 and large is 2 3 4 3 2. The dice do not have to appear in that order on the screen just so long as you have them (just like with a straight).
- Diamond
Eight sided die. Odds is 1 3 5 7. Evens is 2 4 6 8.
Thanks to Chris Harrington for the great three dimensional dice images (please do not steal them, or we will have to send you a cease and desist).
Experimental
- Bottle Caps
"Frosties!," "Vernons!," "Bookends" and "Propellers" are all paterns based on the position of the caps. "Frosties!" and "Vernons!" are odd/even paterns, starting at 1 and 2 respectively
(1 2 1 2 1 and 2 1 2 1 2).
"Bookends" is the two on the ends matching and the three in the middle (a variation on Full House, but again, this time positioning of the caps is important).
"Propeller is the one in the middle being different than the other four (a variation on Four of a Kind, but positioning is again important).
This version kind of breaks the "Rolling The Dice" metaphor. So either imagine that you've got 10 caps and a cirlce and you only get to keep the 5 that land in the circle, OR that you've got 5 of these caps that are really a Frostie cap and Vernon cap stuck back to back and it's like "heads/tails" on a coin.
I did the bottle caps images by lifting some off Google Images and PhotoShopping to desired effect.
FAQ
- When does the NotZee bonus happen?
- For every NotZee (five of a kind) that you score after your first NotZee. The bonuses are worth 100 points plus you get the points for however you score for that turn. You can use these additional NotZees for 4 of a kind, 3 of a kind, chance, and the face value of the dice you rolled (5 2's in the 2's slot for a score of 10)
Speaking of Chris Harrington, I have to say that NotZee! has truly become a join effort on our part. Henceforth it will be known as a Harrington Bros. Joint.
Enjoy!
